What is SMM and what does social media management deliver to a business?

SMM (Social Media Marketing) is systematic work on social media for business outcomes: sales, leads, brand recognition, and loyalty. Unlike one-off advertising, SMM builds long-term brand presence — content, communication, and an audience that over time becomes a source of repeat sales and referrals.

A properly structured SMM program typically runs three parallel tasks:

  • Sales — direct and indirect: through informational content, reviews, case studies, and seasonal offers.
  • Trust — demonstration of expertise, processes, real results, and customer testimonials.
  • Support for performance advertising — an audience “warmed” through social media converts on paid ads at 2–3x lower cost than cold traffic.

Which social platforms do we manage?

We work with all major platforms and tailor the mix to your audience and business model:

  • Instagram — Feed, Stories, Reels, close-friends and subscription content. The key platform for B2C, services, beauty, fashion, and food.
  • Facebook — posts, Reels, groups, events. A strong channel for local businesses and older audiences.
  • TikTok — organic content, UGC-style production, trending formats. Core audience 16–35, fast-growing reach.
  • LinkedIn — expert content, thought leadership, B2B lead generation through executives’ personal accounts.
  • YouTube — long-form video, Shorts, an SEO channel that delivers traffic for years.
  • Telegram — business channels, closed communities, subscription models.
  • Threads, X (Twitter) — when relevant to the audience.

How does AI content production work?

Our AI-driven approach to content is the defining feature of how we work. It’s not “we sometimes use ChatGPT” — it’s a full production cycle built on AI tools:

  • AI motion design. We generate animated content without a traditional motion designer — faster and more affordable, with quality on par with premium agencies.
  • AI avatars. We create virtual presenters who showcase a product or service. We work with HeyGen, Synthesia, and D-ID. Suitable for businesses without a spokesperson, founder presence, or willingness to appear on camera.
  • Visual generation. Product images, covers, banners, and storytelling visuals through Midjourney, Google Gemini Image, Stable Diffusion, OpenAI Image, and other modern tools.
  • AI voiceover. Content narration without a voice actor. Multiple voices, tones, and languages available.
  • AI copywriting with human oversight. Texts are produced faster, but every piece passes editorial review for tone of voice and factual accuracy.

What this means for the client in practice: minimal involvement (no need to organize photo or video shoots), faster launch (first content within 5–7 days, not 3–4 weeks), lower production cost, and the ability to scale a content plan without sacrificing quality.

Honest about the limits: AI content works perfectly for digital services, B2B, education, fintech, and e-commerce with a large catalog. For beauty, fashion, and food niches, a hybrid of AI and real-life client footage is often needed — in those cases we integrate the materials the client provides or coordinate shooting through their contractor.

What does the SMM process look like at FMAds?

Stage 1. Brief and audit.

You complete a detailed brief: goals, product, audience, competitors, current state of social profiles. We audit your profiles, run a content analysis, and conduct competitive research.

Stage 2. SMM strategy and media plan.

The document includes: target audience definition and personas, tone of voice, content categories, a 1–3 month content plan, creative types (which we produce on AI, which require client materials), KPI benchmarks, and a publication schedule. We present it in a meeting.

Stage 3. Profile design.

If needed, we redesign profile headers, avatars, highlights, pinned posts, and bios. Visual cleanliness is the first point of contact with a new follower.

Stage 4. Production and publication.

We produce content according to the agreed plan: copy, AI visuals, AI motion, AI avatars. We get client sign-off on critical posts (launches, promotions, brand statements). Everything else publishes on the agreed schedule without additional approvals.

Stage 5. Community management.

We respond to comments and DMs in the agreed tone of voice. We escalate to the client only commercial inquiries and complex questions that require an expert response.

Stage 6. Analytics and reporting.

A Looker Studio dashboard with metrics for reach, engagement, audience growth, link clicks, and conversions — available 24/7. A monthly review meeting with results and the next plan.

How do we set SMM intensity for different business types?

Frequency and format depend on the business model. There’s no universal “you should publish 3 times a week.” Our framework:

  • B2B — expert minimal cadence. 4–8 publications per month, focus on LinkedIn and corporate networks. The core is case studies, thought leadership posts, expert breakdowns, and white papers. B2B audiences don’t want to “see the brand every day” — they want regular expert value.
  • Services and lead generation — moderate to active cadence. 12–20 publications per month, mixing expert and emotional content. Adding Reels and video formats for reach.
  • E-commerce — high regularity. 20–30+ publications per month, including Stories, promotions, product content, UGC, and reviews. For e-commerce, social media is a second storefront where audiences buy directly via Instagram Shop or DM.

We fix the intensity in the media plan at the strategy stage — together with the budget for content production. This directly impacts the cost of the service: a B2B package is many times less expensive than an e-commerce package, and that’s normal.

How long does it take to see first results?

SMM is a mid-term channel. Realistic expectations:

  • 1 month — profiles set up, content plan running, first audience signals (comment activity, Stories replies, save growth).
  • 2–3 months — visible growth in organic reach and followers, first direct inquiries via DM and comments, improvement in audience quality.
  • 3–6 months — a stable organic flow of leads, formed community character of the page, clear effect on paid advertising (cheaper retargeting).
  • 6+ months — SMM operates as an independent sales channel, separate from paid advertising.

If we take over active profiles with an existing audience, first improvements are visible faster — within 2–4 weeks.

What’s included in an SMM package at FMAds?

The standard cycle:

  • SMM strategy and content plan.
  • Profile design (header, avatar, highlights, pinned posts).
  • Copywriting (posts, Stories, Reels, descriptions).
  • AI visuals (static creatives, banners, covers).
  • AI motion and video content (short formats for Reels, TikTok, Stories).
  • AI avatars for video content (when needed).
  • Scheduling and publishing per the agreed plan.
  • Community management (responses to comments, DMs, basic moderation).
  • Analytics and monthly reporting in Looker Studio.
  • Coordination with the performance team (when we run paid advertising in parallel).

What’s not included in the base package (additional services or coordination with the client):

  • Live photo and video shooting on location — we don’t provide this. When needed, we coordinate with materials from the client or their contractor.
  • Paid social advertising — a separate service (see Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Ads).
  • Producing dedicated paid ad creatives — included in the paid advertising package, not SMM.
  • Influencer marketing — separate engagement.

Do you offer photo and video shooting on location?

No — we deliberately don’t include live shooting in our service. Instead, we offer two options:

  • Option 1. AI production. In 80–90% of cases, this fully covers the visual content need (static creatives, motion, AI avatars, voices). It’s faster and more affordable than traditional shooting.
  • Option 2. Integrating client materials. If you already have photo or video shoots, or work with your own contractor, we take the raw materials and run a complete content cycle on them (editing, montage, AI animation, copy).

For niches where live shooting is critical (fashion, beauty, food), we discuss this honestly at the brief stage and propose a hybrid model.

Who owns the content and the accounts?

You. Always. All social media accounts remain the property of the client. We hold admin or editor rights for the duration of the engagement. Every creative, copy piece, and visual layout we produce is delivered to the client and stays with them after the work concludes. Even if the engagement ends, you retain full library access to all materials.

How do we measure SMM performance?

Metrics depend on the business model:

  • B2B / thought leadership: LinkedIn reach, number of high-quality followers (CEOs, decision-makers), volume of direct DM inquiries.
  • Lead generation: leads from DMs and comments, CPL compared to paid advertising, lead quality.
  • E-commerce: sales from Instagram Shop, traffic to the website, ROI from UTM-tagged links.
  • Brand awareness: organic audience growth, share of voice in the niche, brand mentions.
  • Universal: Engagement Rate, reach, frequency, audience retention, follower growth.

A Looker Studio dashboard with all of this data is available to the client at all times.

How does SMM connect with paid advertising on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok?

SMM and performance advertising are two parts of one system that strengthen each other:

  • Strong organic posts produce ready-made material for paid creatives — sometimes those very pieces “hit” in advertising better than purpose-built ad reels.
  • An active page boosts trust in your ads — the user clicks through to the profile and sees real activity, not a “dead” account with 5 posts.
  • Followers who have engaged with content form a warm audience for retargeting — CPA on these audiences runs 2–3x lower than on cold traffic.

When SMM and advertising run under one team (as they do with us), you get a synergy that’s impossible to recreate by ordering the two services separately from different agencies.

Questions and answers

How much does SMM at FMAds cost?

Pricing depends on the intensity required for your business: a B2B package (4–8 posts per month, expert content focus) costs many times less than an e-commerce package (20–30 publications per month including Stories and promotions). We work on a fixed monthly retainer; for 3-, 6-, or 12-month packages, we offer special terms. We provide a specific figure after the brief and strategy session.

Do I need professional photos of my product or brand?

Not always. In 80–90% of cases, we cover the visual need through AI production: AI visuals, motion design, AI avatars. If your niche requires live shooting (fashion, beauty, food), we work with your materials or coordinate external shooting. We discuss this honestly at the brief stage.

Can I order just the strategy without ongoing management?

Yes. The SMM strategy, content plan, tone of voice, and category structure can be ordered as a standalone deliverable. You receive a document used by your own team or another contractor. This is often ordered by businesses that have an in-house SMM manager but lack systematic strategy.

Do you manage accounts of competing businesses in the same niche?

No. If we already work with a client in a niche, we don't take on a direct competitor. This is our ethical position — conflicts of interest in SMM strategy are unavoidable. For broad categories (fashion, beauty), we define the boundaries individually and fix them in the brief.

What happens to the account after the engagement ends?

The account stays with you, along with the entire accumulated audience, content, and configurations. We hand over full rights and access. All materials produced during the engagement (visuals, copy, strategy) — stay with you.

Do you produce content in Ukrainian, English, and other languages?

Yes. We work in Ukrainian and English as part of the base package. When needed, we produce content in other languages — Polish, German, Spanish — taking into account the cultural specifics of the market. This is discussed separately at the brief stage.

How do you ensure AI content matches our brand?

At the strategy stage, we define tone of voice, visual identity, and brand values. All AI-generated copy and visuals pass editorial review — AI never publishes directly. Your brand style is preserved; only the method of production changes.

Can you work with clients outside Ukraine?

Yes. We work with clients in Europe (Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK), the US, and localize content for each market. The website is bilingual, and English communication is standard practice.
